Beaches
Home to Caladesi Island State Park, America’s No. 1-rated beach in 2008, we offer 35 miles of white-sand beaches on some eight major barrier islands. Our beach offering includes two other top-rated shores: Fort De Soto Park, America’s No. 1-rated beach in 2005, and Clearwater Beach, ranked No. 1 for city beaches in the Gulf of Mexico area.
And then there’s the beach!
Clearwater Beach is known for its beautiful wide sugary sandy beaches and picturesque sunsets. It holds the Guinness world record for the most days of sunshine (361 days). Clearwater Beach was also nominated for having two of the top 10 beaches in the United States! What more could you want?
Pier 60
Famous for its Sunsets. We can go on and on about our beautiful sunsets.
So to celebrate… every night….365 days a year, there is a Sunset Festival at …. sunset…at…Pier 60
There you will find Street Performers…
Like the “Tricky Dog Show” or “Fire Eaters”.
There are many bars & restaurants within walking or if you prefer to ride, jump on the local Trolley and sit back and relax while it takes you by your favorite places.
On North Beach there is the Palm Pavilion Frenchy’s Rockaway and Clear Sky.
Across from Pier 60 but on the bay side, there is a marina that offers many things to do. You can go Deep Sea Fishing on a charter boat, (if you want to get up that early)or enjoy a boat ride featuring dolphin encounters, nature excursions or the Pirate Ship, fun for the little ones, and the child at heart.
